Yesterday, the girls and I went looking for bridesmaids dresses. We went to Brickhouse up in the Woodlands (sister store to Mia). Poor Joey, she had to drive from College Station to the Woodlands by herself only to return to College Station, then back down to Brenham that night. What a wonderful bridesmaid! My other 3 lovely ladies all rode up with me and mom after a couple of mimosas...which lead to Corny getting car sick. We finally got to Brickhouse after an hour on the road.

It's such a nice place. Much better than Ventura's...sorry, Oprah, but its true. We all searched through the racks hoping to find fabulous dresses that would make everyone look stunning. Lucky for me, I've got bridesmaids that look stunning in anything! However, they weren't feeling that way. Stacy hated her first dress. Jill wasn't going to like anything (especially when Mom is sticking her in dresses with big flowers on them). Everything was way too big for Courtney. And Mom put Joey in a dress with testicles on it! Needless to say, it was entertaining.

By the end of the appointment, Jill was content with a one shoulder dress that emphasized her small waist and didn't draw attention to her broad shoulders. Stacy found a fabulous satin gown with an off the shoulder strap. Then Joey finds herself a stunning one shoulder strap dress. Hmmm...I'm beginning to see a pattern here, girls. However, Courtney, being the rebel that she is, found a dress with TWO straps! We told her if she felt left out, we can just snip one of those little straps off! But she hasn't officially made up her mind about which dress she wants so her dress is still TBD.
After dress shopping mom took all of us to lunch at Guadalajara. And what a lucky girl I was...they were serving mimosas!! Mmmmm.... After lunch the mimosa count was at 5. BUT the mimosas at the restaurant were really small. Like normal size or something. Whatev.

Once we finished lunch, we said goodbye to Joey so she could go to her party that night. Then we headed to Sam Moon. Aaaahhh! I swear when you walk into that place all the bling creates a heavenly glow and you can hear the faint sounds of a frugal angelic chorus. Stacy, Corny, and I went straight to the back wall (aka Blingotopia) while Jill and mom wandered around the massive store. We met up later and Mom shows me this necklace that nearly blinds me. And my eyes have grown accustomed to excessive amounts of bling! She asks "what do you think about this for Jill?" Now I'm thinking this is for Meme's bling party that night. And since Jill hadn't found anything yet, I thought it would be funny and great for her to wear that obscene amount of sparkle. (keep in mind that my sparkle tolerance is pretty high so this had to have been beyond unacceptable!) Then I hear "no, for the wedding." O-M-G... My face instantly went blank and Corny and Stacy just started laughing. I mean I know Jill will already be out of her element by being in her dress with makeup on but... there is no need to torture the poor girl! She is still my Jilly and it would seem almost criminal to make her wear something SO not her. There's nothing wrong with keeping it minimal or subdued. There is, however, something wrong with putting a jeans, tshirt, ponytail kind of girl in fabric flowers and necklace that's large enough to turn you into Quasimodo. All in all it was a fun day and I think everyone walked away happy. I love my bridesmaids and don't think I could've picked a better group! Special shout out to Mom who drove us around and bought our lunch! Love ya!
Last event of the evening...Meme's bling party where we had, what else, mimosas!! After that...mimosa count: 13 ;)
