500 Days Party!

With having such a looonnnggg engagement, I like to celebrate the monumental time increments leading up to the big day! So on June 9, we celebrated 500 days until we walk down the aisle! Yes, I am a nerd and, yes, I will have NO life after my wedding...but, oh, the fun I'll have until then! Just wanted to post a couple pics from my tablescape!

Sex and the City 2!

Well my mom and I booked a minister. He is missing a majority of his teeth, has a scruffy beard, lives on an island and is covered in tattoos. Awesome, a pirate is officiating my wedding.

Lisa and Wade had their wedding on May 22. So beautiful! The church the ceremony in was absolutely breathtaking. Even Brian thought it was stunning. So stunning in fact, that when we went to our ceremony room at the San Luis the next day, Brian was willing to do just about anything short of piercing his nipples to get out of that room. So that week we went on a church hunt.

$3,500 for a church? Umm...hello? What happened to "What would Jesus do?" Because I'm pretty sure he would NOT charge an arm and a leg to get married!! And don't get me started on the rules! What does it matter how many bridesmaids I have or what colors of flowers I use? Really? But then...we found it. Mainly by process of elimination but whatev. It was gorgeous, half the cost as others, minimal rules, and even the priest was friendly! I frantically got on the phone and aol to make sure that I would get this church. Got it! No more trying to figure out how to make that room look not so meeting-y. I actually get my father of the bride moment, when the church doors open and everyone stands and all eyes are on me. (Current number one reason to lose weight!)

Where to begin with wedding updates??
After finding THE church, I could focus my attention on my Sex and the City 2 premier party...well with all two of my friends! BUT the day the movie was released, I found out I lost my job. Say what? Yep. "Oh, how the mighty have fallen." (to quote SJP in SATC 2). But I tried to put it out of my mind and enjoy the evening with my super cute tablescape. Loved the movie, can't wait to buy it!

So when reality hit the following day that I wouldn't have a job after Saturday, I went on the dreaded hunt for a job. I applied to Winnie Couture, not really wanting it but I was desperate. Oh and I found out I didnt get the teaching job I had just applied for so I was super frantic. Anyway, long story short got the interview got the job.

So I started my new job on Tuesday. The manager wasn't there. Instead it was some man from Beverly Hills, the owner I guess. After he told me I needed to work on my manners, changed my name to Lo, snapped his fingers at me, quizzed me over a 3000 page manual every 5 minutes, and had belittled me all day long I was just about ready to quit. The straw that broke the camel's back, however, was when I was told that I had frizzy hair and that it needed to be kept in a ponytail from now on. I have no comment on this.

More wedding updates: Brian and I went to cakes by Jula and decided a cake tasting was a good idea. So we bought 6 cupcakes and ate them ALL! Oh the stomach ate. Needless to say, my fat ass hit the gym that night!

More to come! Still need a dj!!
